About the National Capital Excellence in Communication Awards

The National Capital Excellence in Communication Awards is hosted by the Public Relations Society of America's National Capital Chapter (PRSA NCC) and recognizes the most outstanding, strategic communication programs and components developed and produced in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, including Baltimore and Richmond. Achievements are recognized in categories, including:

The PRSA NCC sponsors the local annual awards competition to recognize and reward outstanding achievement in public relations and to encourage continued excellence in the field.

Award winners will be announced at the annual National Capital Excellence in Communication Awards event on Nov. 4, 2021, with details for the event forthcoming. All winners will receive physical awards in addition to virtual recognition.

The National Capital Excellence in Communication Awards presents the highest achievement in a category. Only one award is given in each category. Judges reserve the right to declare no winners in a category if minimum qualifications are not met.

Did you enter PRSA’s National Silver Anvil or Bronze Anvil Awards program?
If so, please note that the National Capital Excellence in Communication Award program and components category definitions and requirements follow the PRSA Silver and Bronze Anvil awards. By taking a little extra time to repurpose your Anvil entry for submission in this awards competition, you will maximize your chance of winning an award and gaining recognition for your organization and your outstanding work. In other words, one campaign or project can be submitted as a program AND as a component, which increases the chances of a winning entry.

All entries must be submitted digitally through our online award management software program. Hard copy entries are no longer accepted.
